Estate worker arrested for impregnating woman

A middle aged estate worker was arrested on charges of repeatedly raping and impregnating an unmarried woman in his neighbourhood, in Valparai.
The 38-year old Periyasami who stayed with his wife and three children, had called the woman, Pappathi (30) to help him in household works and had sexually assaulted her in the absence of his family members, a few months ago.
On being questioned by her mother, Pappathi pointed her finger towards Periyasami and her mother lodged a complaint with All Mahila Police Station in Pollachi, based on which Periyasami was arrested.
Meanwhile, the woman was sent for medical examination to Pollachi Government Hospital, police added.
