Four killed in car-bus collision

Four persons were killed on the spot when the car in which they were travelling collided head on with a government bus at Kundadam in nearby Tirupur district, in the early hours of this morning.

The inmates of the car, identified as Murugan, Saravanan, Poovanan and Velusamy, were returning to their hometown in Vadugapatti, in in Sivaganga district’s Tirupattur, after meeting their relatives studying in a private college here, police said.

As the car reached Kundadam near Dharapuram, it collided with the bus coming to the city from Madurai, killing all the four on the spot, they said.

Police who arrived at the scene, removed the bodies and sent them for post-mortem to Dharapuram Government Hospital and further investigations are on.
