Government propaganda vehicle ready for tour

The Minister of municipal administration and rural development, SP Velumani, today inspected the special broadcast vehicles with display screens, which will be used to project short films on the achievements and plans of the Tamil Nadu government, at the Collector’s office.

On September 29, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Ms. J. Jayalalithaa had ordered that special vehicles with colour display screens be issued to the Information and Public Relation Offices in 32 districts, at a cost of Rs.20.8 crores, to create awareness among the public of the goals and achievements of the state government.

The vehicle worth Rs.65 lakhs that was provided to the Information and Public Relation Office in Coimbatore was inspected by S.P. Velumani, Minister of Municipal administration, Rural development, Courts and Prisons. The vehicle will cover all the areas under Coimbatore Municipality, and in Coimbatore district.

Coimbatore District Collector Archana Patnaik, City Corporation Commissioner Dr. Vijay Karthikeyan, Coimbatore South Zone MLA Challenger Durai, and Deputy Mayor Leelavathi Unni were also present during the inspection.
