Hawala duo arrested on Coimbatore-Pazhakad highway

Hawala money amounting to 1.5 crores was confiscated from two people travelling in a private bus on the Pazhakad-Coimbatore national highway, police sources said.
The money was seized during a vehicle check by police near Vallayar Attapalam.Police stopped the bus and following a search, Ahmed and Mohammed Kothoos were found to be in possession of the money. They were bound for Pazhakad from Chennai.
Since they didn’t have proper documents to support the possession of the money, police confirmed it as Hawala money.The duo has been arrested.
