Holiday bookings are 50 percent more than normal days, says Cleartrip

There is at least 50 percent increase in flight and hotel bookings during holidays and festival seasons on Cleartrip, the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, Subramanya Sharma said. Cooler destinations continue to be the top preference in summers as well as those looking for short holidays.
There is also a surge in mobile booking during long weekends and festive seasons like Dussera and Deepavali. Sharma said that there was no surge during cricket matches, like IPL. Forty percent of the booking happens on the mobile phones and the rest on the desktop, with an average transaction size of Rs.8000.
Year-on-year bookings on Cleartrip from Coimbatore saw a massive increase of 505 percent. Favourite holiday destinations for Coimbatoreans are Singapore, Colombo, Sharjah and Dubai.
