Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan would give away the prizes to the winners of the volleyball and throw ball final matches organised by the Isha Foundation here on September 4.

As a prelude to the Isha Gramotsavam 2016 Finale, divisional level matches took place at nine locations in Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore, on Sunday.

While volley ball matches were held for men, throw ball matches were conducted for women. Eight village-level teams competed for the divisional winners and runners-up positions. Forty cluster-level matches took place earlier this month and two teams qualified for divisional level matches.

The winners have been qualified for the quarter finals, from which four teams would go to the semi finals, that would be held on September 3 here, a press release said today. The finals would be held on September 4. Shikhar Dhawan would give away the prizes to the winners in the presence of Isha founder Jaggi Vasudev.

Kabaddi matches, rural food festival, traditional games and a variety of folk art performances would also be held during the grand finale of the Gramotsavam, the release added.

“The Gramotsavam is part of a larger vision – that of a society where people full of joy and enthusiasm become sources of transformation for those around them and the games foster friendships, unity and a healthy vibrant community,” the release said.
