Chennai: The health of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and DMK president M Karunanidhi is improving, say sources in the AIADMK and the DMK respectively.

The AIADMK supremo, who is under treatment at Apollo Hospital for more than a month, is showing steady improvement and, according to sources, will be discharged from the hospital soon. DMK circles say that the former Chief Minister is recuperating and he will be alright in a few days.

Meanwhile, BJP Tamil Nadu Unit President Tamilisai Soundararajan today wished Karunanidhi a speedy recovery. In a statement here, she said she was concerned on hearing that the senior political leader was suffering from an allergic infection. “I pray to the almighty for his speedy recovery and that he is soon able to continue to take part in political activities,” she added. It may be recalled that the DMK in a statement here yesterday said the 93-year-old Karunanidhi was suffering from a drug-induced allergy and has been taking rest.
