Coimbatore : A 21-year-old MBA student was found dead by hanging from the ceiling fan in his hostel room today at Madukkarai on the city outskirts, reportedly over love failure.

Krishnakumar, from Thiruvallur district, was doing hia first-year MBA in a private college in the area and his classmates found the room latched from inside and no response for long in the morning, police said.

The college authorities rushed to the spot and informed the police, who arrived at the scene and broke open the door only to find the student hanging dead from the ceiling fan using his bedsheet, they said. They also noticed that Krishnakumar had cut his wrist, resulting in bleeding.

Police recovered his cellphone and preliminary inquiry revealed that love failure has led to suicide.
