The 27-year old model who had been missing from the city for the last four days, returned home on Monday.

Police sources said that the model Gaanam Nair alias Jikki Padhoo left home for work on May 26 and since then had not returned home. Her mobile phone also remained switched off.

The model’s aunt, with whom Gaanam, was living in Virugambakkam lodged a complaint with the police. Initial investigation revealed that the model had taken a different route instead of the usual route she takes to office. She had also taken a laptop and a diary with her before going missing.

However, Gaanam, who is reportedly under depression and is going through some relationship problems, returned home on Monday evening, police said. However, investigation authorities did not reveal where the model went since last Friday.

After the model went missing, Gaanam’s friends and relatives had launched an online campaign seeking information about the missing model. Gaanam’s mother had died and her father lives in New Delhi.

In March, Gaanam posted a note in a social media saying “A tear rolls down, from both our eyes, at the same time. My lips quivering, crying, I’m trying to prepare you, pulling myself up. But I give up the next minute. You slap me. You slap me crying, desperate, ‘Get up Gaanam, get up”.
