The district administration will administer polio drops to 3.38 lakh children under the age of 5, at their various health camps all over the district.

According a release from the district administration, as many as 1581 centres are to be set up in Coimbatore district – 1337 camps in the rural areas, and 244 in the city. The release has also said that 1469 children of north Indian migrants who work here will also be give the polio drops.

The administration has also planned to set up 39 special centres and 27 mobile units to cover the bus terminus, railway station, airport, and other public gathering places. As many as 2832 volunteers will be involved in the campaign and the district administration has requested public to cooperate, and bring their kids to the camps to administer the polio drops even if they have had it before.
