A new type of looting has come to stay at the airport, tricking passengers who board T-board vehicles. After the pick time of three minutes, it is usual that the authority can charge an extra of Rs 60.

A petition has been filed by activist and member of anti-corruption movement K Durairaj at the Collectorate on grievance day . “I was coming from Mumbai on May 13 and as usual I booked GoTaxi. It wasn’t even parked for three minutes but the staff asked us to pay extra of Rs.60,” he says.

People gave those extra bucks just to `show off their status in front of others’. “This is a psychological robbery. I complained to the GoTaxi authority and they are ready to pay me the Rs 60. But I asked them to join the petition. But they somehow weren’t concerned,” Durairaj added.

The parking tender people target only T-board vehicles, leaving the white board ones. The District Collector, TN Hariharan, he said, has assured him that he would look into the matter and take appropriate action.
