Search is on for robbers who broke into the GN Mills post office and decamped with cash, stamps and other articles, valued at Rs.8,000.
The theft came to light when Assistant Post Master Muthusamy lodged a complaint yesterday. He stated that he found the locks of the post office tampered with, and the cash and parcels missing.
Rs.840 in cash, stamps worth Rs.563, inland letters worth Rs.400, and two parcels valued at Rs.6,500 were missing from the office. The Thudiyalur police are investigating.
