A nine-year-old boy was killed in Sundarapuram when his van hit him while it was pulling back.

The child, named Vigneshwaran, was a student of a government school. He was waiting for the regular van to arrive to go to school in the morning. The driver of the van didn’t notice the boy who was standing behind the vehicle and began to move the vehicle in reverse direction. The van hit the boy and grievously injured him.

The boy was rushed to the Government Hospital, where he died. An angry mob smashed the windows of the van. The van driver, Alex, was arrested and the vehicle was seized.
