Seven held for IPL betting in Tirupur, Rs1.6L recovered

Coimbatore : Seven persons were taken into custody on charges of their involvement in betting on IPL cricket. The suspected are from Palladam in Tirupur district.

Based on information, police rushed to a room near the bus stand and nabbed the seven around midnight yesterday as they were believed to be involved in betting.
Police also seized Rs 1.6 lakh from them. Seven more persons were involved in the racket and hunt was on for them
