Signature campaign for Jallikattu

The Coimbatore Rekla Club on Thursday conducted a signature campaign near Olympus here, in order to bring back traditional sports like Jallikattu and Rekla races.

Protesting against the ban on Jallikattu which the Supreme Court refused to lift, as many as 150 members of the organization and the general public participated in the campaign in support of Jallikattu.

Thirumugham Sivapuramal, the President of the Coimbatore Rekla Club said that the organization would reach out to the people of various districts and continue to protest until the ban on Jallikattu is lifted.

The verdict given by the top court has been condemned by various political parties and organizations in the Tamil Nadu. Protests have also been taking place all over the state demanding that Theban be lift
