TANGEDCO’s measures to prevent electric accidents

The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has decided to replace old and damaged poles and electricity conductors in Coimbatore, Tirupur, and the Nilgiris districts to prevent electricity accidents.

In a release, M. Chandrasekar, Chief Engineer of TANGEDCO, has stated that the Department had provided 1,295 wire guarding for electrical lines that crossed the road and had also replaced damaged conductors for 207 km.

“As many as 2,320 damaged and corroded poles have been replaced,” he added.

The release also stated that an inspection team comprising 10 officers would be set up in Coimbatore Zone to inspect and replace old and damaged poles and electricity conductors.
