Teenager dies of snake bite

Udhagamandalam: A teenager boy died of snake bite in his house near Gudalur about 80 km from Udhagamandalam today.
Gunasekharan (17), studying Grade 12, was sleeping in his bamboo-roofed house in Moochikolli, when a Russell Viper fell on him from the top in the early hours, police said.
Even as he was trying to drive it away, the reptile bit his neck and hearing the screams, his relatives and neighbours rushed him to the Gudalur Government Hospital.
As there was no proper facility, Gunasekharan was immediately brought to the Government Hospital in Ooty, where he died even before admission.
