Three women die of swine flu in Coimbatore region

Coimbatore : Three women died of H1N1 (swine flu) in the region, today.

According to Government Hospital sources here, Pushpa (38) of Sulur on the outskirts was suffering from fever and was at her residence on medicines prescribed by the hospital here.

As her condition appeared to be serious, relatives took her to a nearby Primary Health Centre and to a private hospital in the city. As she was diagnosed for H1N1 flu, she was referred to the Government hospital here.

However, she died on the way past midnight yesterday. Similarly, Gayatri (28) from Gandhimanagar in the city was undergoing treatment for fever in a private hospital here for the last few days, where she was tested H1N1 positive and admitted to the Government Hospital here.

However, she died early on Friday, hospital sources said.

Separately, Angay (55) of Atthanur in Namakkal district was undergoing treatment for H1N1 at Salem Government Hospital. She died this morning without responding to treatment.
