Knitwear industries in Tiruppur have decided to not participate in the proposed strike on Tuesday calling for a complete ban on liquor sale in Tamil Nadu.

According to industrial sources, the decision to not participate by the garment manufacturers and allied units was made to meet the order delivery commitments. Bu the associations promised to show their solidarity with the cause in other ways.

The strike was announced by various political parties in Tamil Nadu, to pay homage to Sasi Perumal, who died while protesting against the sale of liquor in the state.
