Two drivers die as lorries collide

The drivers of two lorries were killed when their vehicles collided head-on near Madukkarai on the outskirts today.
According to police, lorry driver Thiagarajan attempted to overtake a two-wheeler without noticing a tipper lorry coming from the opposite direction.
The vehicles collided and Thiagarajan died on the spot and his assistant Masani was injured, police said. Tipper lorry driver Chandrakumar was declared brought dead to the Government Hospital here. His assistant Satishkumar is undergoing treatment in a private hospital, police said.
