Victim’s kin refuse to take solatium cheque

Relatives of 20-year-old Dharini, one of the victims in bus stand collapse in Somanur, on Friday refused to accept the cheque for Rs. 4 lakh as solatium announced by Chief Minister.

Kanagaraj, representing Sulur Assembly constituency, along with some officials visited Dharini’s house in Kombakadupudur to hand over the solatium. However, the relatives not only rejected it, but also gheroed the MLA and the officials and blamed the Government for its negligence that resulted in the mishap.
