People of Coimbatore have been fortunate to listen to hundreds of his lectures in the last two decades.

June 5 was one such occasion when Sree Annapoorna Sree Gowri Sankar Group of Hotels organised one such programme at their auditorium in R.S. Puram.

Sri Krishnan spoke about the Soumya Narayana Madhava Perumal of Thirukoshtiyur where Saint Ramanujar received the Ashtakashara Mantropadesam from Thirukoshtiyur Nambi in accordance with the wishes of Acharya Alavandar Swamigal.

Sri Krishnan was earlier welcomed with Poornakumbam by the priests of the Thirukoshtiyur temple. He also spoke about the three-tiered Soumya Narayana temple and the 18 qualities a devotee should possess. However, he added, Ramanujar believed that the most essential qualtiy was the wish to learn the eight syllable mantra ‘Om Namo Narayana’.

He also spoke on two types of people – the believers and the soon to be!

Sri Krishnan released a booklet on Soumya Narayana Perumal temple. He requested the people to participate in the 1000th birth anniversary of Sri Ramanujar by participating in various events organised by the temple and working for the temple tirupani.

The Annapoorna family hosted the event. The devotees were offered prasadams at the end of the discourse.

K.G. Ramakrishnamurthy, industrialists Selvapathy, V. Jagannathan and E.Ranga rao were also present along with K. Ramaswamy, D. Sunderaraj, D. Srinivasan and R. Venkatesh Babu of the Annapoorna family.
