Heavy summer showers lash South Kerala

Kottayam: Heavy summer showers have been lashing south Kerala for the last couple of weeks bringing respite from heat.
Rains battered many areas in the state on the eve of Vishu and the evening today. The downpour helped to bring down the mercury level in many areas.
It also helped to recharge water table in many areas. Domestic and foreign tourists visiting Kumarakam in Kottayam enjoyed heavy showers while taking boat rides.
At the same time the rains caused lot of problems to farmers.
