Keralite receives Sridevi’s body from Dubai hospital

Kottayam: Sridevi’s bonding with Kerala continued even after demise as Ashraf Thamarassery of Kozhikkode received the body from the hospital.
The social worker had the privilege to receive the body after embalming. The Dubai health authority’s letter said the body was handed over to Ashraf based at Ajman.
Ashraf had received a number of bodies from the hospital in the past and was well-versed with the procedures of UAE.
Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor’s relative Saurabh Malhotra was assigned by the family to receive the body. As he had little idea of the procedures, Ashraf came forward offering help. Other social workers like Nasser Vattanappally and Nasser Nanthi from Kerala were among those present at the time of embalming.
The authorities had officially handed over the body to Ashraf. The documents were carried by Sourabh Malhotra and Indian consulate officials while transporting the body.
