Nilgiris celebrates Independence Day

The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated grandly at the Ooty Government Arts College grounds. District collector J Innocent Divya hoisted the national flag and witnessed the ceremonial parades. While welfare funds were distributed, medals and certificates were awarded to police personnel for their exemplary services. Traditional dance by the tribals of Nilgiris was an added attraction to the celebrations.
