Call for Protest For Merging Six Sub-castes

State Kongu Vellalar Organization conducted its meeting of the office bearers at its head office in 100 feet road, Coimbatore. As per the resolution of that meeting, the organization vehemently condemns the decision of the government to merge six sub-castes under a single banner called “Devendra Kula Vellalar”. While talking to the media, Devaraj, general secretary of the organization said, “Providing the title ‘Vellalar’ to other castes is not acceptable. If the government does not take back this move, a state wide protest will be staged by the members of the community”.
