Saravanakumar, a nineth grade student in Mavupatti Government School near Paalamedu, Madurai was attacked by his schoolmate Eswaran. Saravanakumar who suffered serious injuries was admitted in Madurai Government Hospital. Since Saravanakumar belong to the scheduled caste, the members of Dravidar Thamizhar party staged a demonstration against this in front of the Coimbatore south Taluk office . The District Secretary of the party Kathiravan told that they vehemently condemned such violences against the dalit students.
