Diminishing Turmeric Cultivation in Coimbatore District

The Cultivation of Turmeric was flourishing in the belt of Annur, Sathyamangalam, Thondamuthur, Sirumugai, Sultanpettai, Sulur. Due to the insufficiency of labor, manufacturing cost, Climatic change, and deterioration in yield, the crop production has been a loss for the farmers in recent times. Hence the Tamil Nadu Farmers Association insisted to the District Collector to take necessary steps at once in order to boost up the yield of the turmeric production.
