Flood alert sounded for people on the banks of River Amaravathy

Amaravathy Dam in Tiruppur district is receiving heavy inflow of water which is also being released immediately. In light of this the district administration has issued a flood alert and requested the people to refrain from venturing into the river and also letting animals into pasture on the river banks. A toll free number of 1077 has been provided for help in regard to floods.
