A few inmates of the Dharsana Ladies Hostel in Peelamedu, Coimbatore were compelled to go to a drinks party by the warden Punitha in the pretext of a birthday bash. On hearing about this, the parents and relatives of the inmates rushed to the hostel to confront the warden and the owner Jaganathan. As the police also arrived at the scene, they fled. As no formal complaint was filed by the affected girls, the Jananayaga Ladies Club members went to the hostel and conducted enquiries among the inmates. It was found that the warden who was mostly in a drunken stupor, had tried to misguide them in several ways and had also compelled them to talk to the owner when he was in an indecent state.
