North Indian contract labourers suffer without pay

Around 43 contract labourers from Orissa working in Sri Varahi Amman Steel Ltd were not paid for the past one and a half months. When asked both the management and the contractor evaded the issue. The labourers are now in a state of hunger as they could not pay the dues to the vegetable vendor and the hotel. A petition was submitted to the district collector who has asked them to submit the same on Manu Neethi day which falls on next Monday in spite of the labourers suffering from hunger and lack of money.
