The measures taken by the government in anticipation of the cyclone Gaja had ensured that not even one fisherman lost his life because of the calamity. But during the cyclone that occurred during the DMKs rule, hundreds of fishermen lost their lives because of the government’s unpreparedness, said Minister SP Velumani.
