Shops inside Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple catches fire

The shops inside the Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple caught fire destroying property. The fire spread to three shops and was on for three hours. Five fire tenders were used to douse the fire. Short circuit is suspected to be the reason. As there is no provision for lorries to go in, pots of water were also used. Police has been deployed around the temple.
