War on plastics in Tamil Nadu

War against use of plastic in a host packagings and everyday use materials has begun in earnest in Tamil Nadu from the beginning of this year. Recognizing the urgent need for doing away with this environmentally hazardous material, the state goverment has from from January 2019 banned the use plastic in numerous products. It has also laid down heavy penalties for all violations.
