Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned a busy working Wednesday morning into a game of patience with one tweet at 11:23 am.

Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter, “I would be addressing the nation at around 11:45 AM – 12.00 noon with an important message. Do watch the address on television, radio or social media.”

Every minute garnered over 1,000 tweets. 51 minutes after the tweet was posted, it garnered over 56,000 likes and 19,000 retweets and counting.

Twitter went into frenzy with speculation as Modi kept the nation waiting well after the 12 noon scheduled time.

A Twitter user wrote, “Are they waiting for rahu kal to pass or something?”

Another wrote, “Poor television anchors have run out of things to say coz no one has any idea or have sources who know anything. PM ten minutes late. (sic)”

From a second demonetisation, to Masood Azhar’s death and election announcement, Twitter cooked up all kinds of theories.
